LA-based songwriter Nathan Jacques has unveiled an epic music video for the latest single from his new album Dark Wanderer and the Bounty Heart, “All I See.” According to Jacques and the video’s director Christopher Macken, the track and its video serve as a love letter to Western movies and music. The song lilts along with bent guitar runs, strutting drums, and vocal harmonies that would sound perfect around a campfire. “Of all my demons, you were the best one,” Jacques sings.
“‘All I See’ is about saying goodbye, I love you,” the songwriter explains. “It’s the curtain call to a long and hard-fought journey, a bittersweet lullaby to the one you love. The tune is a dark yet blissfully reflective farewell nestled in a jaunty tune.”
As for the track’s video, which depicts the final scene of the record’s fictitious accompanying movie, director Macken shares that the clip serves as “the truest representation of the project as a whole... Drenched in dark themes, but performed with featherweight levity and set against a backdrop of tangible, handmade imagery all straight out of a storybook Americana imagination.”
