Last month, we sounded the celebratory horn that Peaches was back (in book form). Yesterday, the Canadian musician/rapper/performance artist/author finally dropped some details about her upcoming album Rub, which is due out this fall on I U She Music via INgrooves.
Beyond clueing us in on a the list of musicians featured on the upcoming LP (including Kim Gordon and Feist), Peaches released a brand-new music video for Rub‘s first single “Light in Places” featuring Empress Stah—a performance artist/aerialist from London. The artist’s self-directed video—much like her musical legacy—is quite provocative, and harnesses Peaches’ inimitable talent for twisting and using sexuality as a form of art and empowerment.
Just listen to “Light in Places”‘ chorus to experience the self-confident (and playful) return of Peaches for yourself: “I’m an everlasting iconoclast / I came to destroy the past / My stargasm makes the blast / Shake the system, then surpass.”
Check out the LP’s track list below and look for when Peaches will be dancing through your town. Rub is due out on September 25 via I U She Music and INgrooves.
