It feels like yesterday that Fat Dog were barking at an enraptured FLOODfest audience in Austin, winning over fans despite technically only having two recorded songs to their name at that point. Six months later and the chaotic London dance-punk troupe have finally delivered the goods with their debut album WOOF. landing last week via Domino Records. As promised by vocalist Joe Love, the record’s nine songs are pretty much guaranteed to hold the attention of even the most distracted listeners, with a constantly shifting variety of moods and electronic music genres keeping things fresh over a brief half-hour runtime.

While their sound feels Frankensteined together from so many different touchstones of EBM and synth-wave, synth player Chris Hughes (a.k.a DJ Skinny Penis, if that’s really what you want to call him) made an effort to throw together something resembling an influences playlist, with acid-techno deepcuts and Saltburn OST items alike filling out the tracklist. Much as Fat Dog does with their own music, the DJ set aims to set the mood at the club (whether for “evil nights on the dancefloor” or for “[bringing] people softly back into the grim reality of their own little lives” at the end of the night), with Hughes offering up some truly TMI commentary on a few of the picks.

Check out the playlist below, and listen to WOOF. here. Additionally, you can revisit our interview with Love and saxophonist Morgan Wallace from earlier this year here.

Hermeth, “Devil’s Reject”
Tech perfection, diiirty vocals, and a damn tidy pulse.

Mason vs. Princess Superstar, “Perfect (Exceeder)”
I was making people gyrate to this before Saltburn made it popular again, and I’ve never fucked a grave, so…

Paradox Obscur, “Dark Fortress”
Creepy, dark synthwave stuff to set the mood for evil nights on the dancefloor.

Boy Harsher, “Come Closer”
Boy Harsher are the pinnacle of sexy techno. Only time I’ve ever gotten half mast to a song before.

The Prodigy, “Firestarter”
Immediately turns the club into the Thunderdome from Mad Max 3 (the one with Tina Turner).

FISHER feat. Aatig, “Take It Off”
Alright, fair enough—maybe Boy Harsher aren’t the only throb-inducing group on this list.

Pertubator, “Behemoth” (gost Remix)
This song makes you feel like you’re fighting God in Mortal Kombat—and winning, at that.

Faithless, “Insomnia”
“Tearing off tights with my teeth”: best lyric of all time. RIP king.

MCR-T feat. horsegiirL, “My Barn My Rules”
Something so filthy about this—makes you feel like a really meth-delirious farmer three days into a session at a chemsex barn. Lovely!

The The, “This Is the Day”
A good last song of the night. Brings people softly back into the grim reality of their own little lives without the lights coming back on quite so harshly.
