Last year, PJ Harvey hosted a special night of poetry, conversation, and music at Warsaw in Brooklyn. Aside from a brief set at that one-off evening, it had been seven years since she’d played proper shows in the US before kicking off a 16-night North American tour in Washington DC last week.
The tour landed in New York for two nights at Terminal 5 this week, finding the alt-rock icon in top form as she and her band—John Parish, James Johnston, Giovanni Ferrario, and Jean-Marc Butty—ripped through her 2023 album I Inside the Old Year Dying from beginning to end, along with a selection of classics including “Send His Love to Me,” “Man-Size,” “The Garden, and “White Chalk.”
