Chicago footwork superstars The Era are debuting a new mini-documentary today titled COMBO PACK, which chronicles the creation of their new EP of the same name that’s set to arrive on October 4 via the inimitable Teklife Records. In the five-minute video, the crew—which consists of Ptop, Steelo, Chief Manny, Litebulb, and DJ Spinn—sets about concocting the new project. Behind-the-scenes access shows the group cooking up samples, beats, and melodies, interspersed with commentary from each member.
Litebulb explains that the goal was to make the project in 24 hours and “be as creative as possible with this music shit.” He adds: “Write, create, put together a project. The best music project we put out yet. Consistency. That’s what the key was.”
