Riot Fest returned to Douglass Park in Chicago this past weekend—after plans to move the annual punk fest to the suburbs were called off—with headliners Slayer, Beck, and Fall Out Boy in tow, along with three nights of NOFX’s erratic farewell shows.
FLOOD photographer Timothy Hiatt also took to the fest grounds (as he did in 2021, 2022, and 2023) to capture backstage portraits with punk heroes past and present, from iconic figures such as Laura Jane Grace, Buzzcocks, and Taking Back Sunday, to newcomers Sprints, local outfit Pixel Grip, and recently formed emo supergroup L.S. Dunes (Circa Survive’s Anthony Green, My Chemical Romance’s Frank Iero, Coheed and Cambria’s Travis Stever, and Thursday’s Tucker Rule and Tim Payne).
Check out his portraits (with assistance by Zoë Pike) for FLOOD below.
