Father John Misty covers Arcade Fire for CBC Music

At every stop on Arcade Fire‘s most recent North American tour, the Canadian mega-group covered a song from one of that city’s artists. Now, Father John Misty has repaid the favor, covering the title track from the group’s 2010 album The Suburbs. Misty (née Josh Tillman) performs the track alone in b.b. gun leather, a garage-space workshop in East Vancouver. It’s a few thousand miles from Arcade Fire’s home turf in Montreal, but the quaver in Tillman’s voice as he sings the chorus—”Sometimes I can’t believe it / I’m moving past the feeling”—can cover a whole lot of empty space.
