The Cure are unveiling another new song from their forthcoming album, Songs of a Lost World. I’ll tell ya what: Though this titular world can’t be found, it sure is easy to find Cure songs from there. The piano-led single begins with a melody that momentarily sounds like Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” (now that would be funny) before intermingling bass and guitar parts help usher Robert Smith onto the stage. “‘Every time you kiss me I could cry,‘ she said,” he sings, as if he knew it would make a wacky lyric for bloggers to transcribe.

“‘A Fragile Thing’ is driven by the difficulties we face in choosing between mutually exclusive needs and how we deal with the futile regret that can follow these choices,” Smith shared, “however sure we are that the right choices have been made…it can often be very hard to be the person that you really need to be.”
