Dehd are very much not dead—in fact, they’re sounding more alive than ever during what is evidently a recent foray into becoming the world’s greatest cover band. Earlier this week, the Chicago trio dropped a version of my all-time favorite Pixies song, “Mr. Grieves.” Now, this is a particularly bold choice for the band, considering TV on the Radio have already dropped an all-time version of the song, but now there are three tremendous versions of this song. Keep ’em coming, bands [gestures wildly toward no one in particular].

As if this sparkling track wasn’t enough to whet your greedy lil’ whistle, the band stopped by SiriusXM ahead of their upcoming tour, which begins tomorrow night (October 17) in Canada, and offered up a rendition of Big Thief’s “Vampire Empire.” r/indieheads is probably abuzz this week.
