You still have time to think up a New Year’s resolution that may or may not involve an underused gym membership or a vow to swear off any vices in a year that’s shaping up to be all but impossible to raw dog. Yet South African pop-rapper Moonchild Sanelly is officially putting in her bid today to swear off tequila in a big, earwormy way with the latest cut from her forthcoming Full Moon LP. “To Kill a Single Girl (Tequila)” is likely to stick in your head from the vocalist’s first insistent, vocoded recitation of the line “No tequila” up through its umpteenth repetition, with the minimal beat leaving plenty of space for those words to resonate.

“The song is about choosing to leave tequila alone, ’cause it doesn’t work for me and my relationships,” Moonchild shares in an understatement. “Unnecessary thorns in my words when the truth hurts anyway. I hope the song and video hit you hard like tequila shots!”

The video in question sees the artist turning away shots and bottles at a vibrant party, increasingly interspersed with live footage. Check that out below, and pre-order Full Moon here.
