Even as we’ve begun rolling out our coverage celebrating the year 2024 in music, we still have plenty to look forward to at the very beginning of 2025. On January 31, Nashville-based songwriter Lilly Hiatt will be returning with her first new LP in four years with the nine-song Forever. Two of those tracks have already been released, with “Shouldn’t Be” and “Thoughts” pushing forward the Americana sound last heard on 2021’s Lately.
While we’re still over a month away from that release, Hiatt is teasing it with a “Neighborhoods” session filmed in her backyard in Nashville where she performs both of those new singles on acoustic guitar. Come for the stripped-back beauty of the songwriter’s voice paired with gentle strums, stay for her dog Elvis decimating a stick during the brief intermission. Check it out below.
