A day before their show at Mercury Lounge in New York City tonight, Julien Baker and TORRES stopped by The Tonight Show to perform a brand new duet entitled “Sugar in the Tank.” Live, TORRES handles the electric guitar melody while Baker showcases her skills on the banjo. A pedal steel also makes an appearance, giving the driving alt-rock track a country tinge.
The special gig marks Baker’s return to New York just two months after she performed three shows at Webster Hall. Her next date will be at the Big Ears Festival in Tennessee where she’ll be debuting more music with TORRES.
