Youth Lagoon, the project of Trevor Powers, is back with another new LP called Rarely Do I Dream to follow his 2023 effort Heaven Is a Junkyard. To celebrate the news, Powers unveiled a new single, “Speed Freak,” and confirmed a 2025 tour in support of the record. The single is a haunted, grimy pop cut built around buzzing synths and Powers’ near-falsetto, which is equal parts enchanting and haunting. “I am sorry I’m a speed freak,” he sings.
