Back in September, Belarusian coldwave trio Molchat Doma returned with their fourth album Belaya Polosa—their second release since their single “Sudno (Boris Ryzhy)” unexpectedly blew up on TikTok in early 2020. Their first new music in four years experimented with a slightly darker sound, in addition to incorporating elements of trip-hop and EBM that aligned the record more closely with the ’90s electronic scene than the Cold War brutalist period they invoke in their aesthetic.

Speaking of that aesthetic, on a recent European tour, the band made a pitstop in Slovakia to visit the Panorama Hotel, which you may recognize from the cover of their breakout sophomore album Etazhi. While checking out the starkly brutalist structure, Molchat Doma took the opportunity to film a short live set consisting of Etazhi cut “Toska,” the Belaya Polosa track “Chernye Cvety,” and an encore in the form of “Sudno (Boris Ryzhy),” appropriately presented in black and white with choppy slo-mo effects inspired by the music videos and films of the late-’90s and early-’00s.

You can check that out below, along with a series of exclusive photos from the shoot captured by Yauheni Korshun. Additionally, the band will be hitting the US this week—check out all of their upcoming dates here.
