Last year marked 20 years since Sebastien Grainger and Jesse F. Keeler unleashed their explosive debut album together as Death From Above 1979, and they’re still in the midst of celebrating that milestone with the third leg of their You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine 20th anniversary tour. The duo hit Los Angeles this weekend along with openers Spiritual Cramp at The Novo in Downtown LA, where they played that album in its entirety, along with a selection of other notable tracks from their discography (including an encore closer of “Dead Womb”, the first track off their 2002 debut EP, Heads Up).
For the unfamiliar, San Francisco punks Spiritual Cramp made a huge impression with a chaotic opening performance. FLOOD photographer Skylar Watkins was in the house to document both sets from the night—check out her selects below.
