This Friday, London duo Franc Moody return with their new LP Chewing the Fat, their first collection of funk-tronic nu-disco since 2022’s Into the Ether. Signed to their new label Night Time Stories, they achieve a more experimental sound across the record that spans various eras of music between the past and future. “We spent so long trying to desperately make a record that sounded like it was cut in 1952, but I basically bought my first synthesizer, a Juno 60, and that led into a slightly more interesting path,” the band’s Jon Moody shared upon first revealing details of the record.

Leading up to the album’s release, Moody and bandmate Ned Franc are taking over FLOOD FM all week with a new episode of “Hacked.” True to their era-eschewing new record, the track list features everything from Henri Mancini to Fcukers, including LCD Soundsystem, Massive Attack and Foals offshoot Yannis & the Yaw in between. Check out their playlist every day this week (March 2 – 7) at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 10 p.m. only on FLOOD FM.
