Fresh off a stellar performance at the 2025 edition of FLOODfest, Wishy are back with a new single entitled “Over and Over” from the band’s upcoming Planet Popstar EP. The track begins with some pleasant bleep-bloop synths before kicking into gear with a slippery acoustic guitar melody and shuffling drums. The play between acoustic and electric instrumentation gives the cut some malleability.
Vocalist/guitarist Kevin Krauter said of the track: “The major themes of this song revolve around desire, ambition, disappointment, acceptance, playing the cards you’re dealt, etc. I wrote this song in 2020 before the band existed, and since then had no plans to properly record and release it. I knew Ben [Lumsdaine] would crush it on the mix and production, however, and Nina [Pitchkites]’s voice would send it over the edge. It simply had to be a Wishy song.”
