The Detroit-based duo of guitarist Libby DeCamp and percussionist Adam Schreiber feel like a natural fit for Dan Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound label: as Moonrisers, the pair make roots-y rock music that takes its vintage sound seriously. Ahead of their instrumental debut Harsh & Exciting—produced by Auerbach—the band is sharing another single that leans into this appreciation for unmodulated homage to mid-century instrumentation, with “All Your Hiding” spotlighting DeCamp’s plucking of an instrument checked out from Auerbach’s private collection.

“‘All Your Hiding’ is a minimalistic, gentle ride to the tune of self-discovery and introspection penned on a vintage ’50s Harmony four-string ‘electro banjo’ borrowed from Dan Auerbach, moving with a thump of footstep-like melodic drums and glimmers of pedal steel and mandola in its sunny periphery,” the duo shares of the single, which follows the release of the lumbering and slightly unsettled five-minute opener last month.

The single arrives with an animated visual that serves as a parable for human greed at the expense of our natural surroundings, tapping into the subtle morbidity of the band’s music. You can check that out below, pre-order Harsh & Exciting (out May 30) here.
