April was a month for the books for Manila-born, LA-based artist Eyedress. The songwriter headlined a hometown Coachella sideshow at the El Rey, played two weekends of Coachella evening sets on the Mojave stage, and unveiled his seventh studio album, Stoner, on RCA Records. The 21-track release hosts a wide range of guests—including Mac DeMarco, The Marías, Harmony Korine, and Mayer Hawthorne—but none quite as special as the guests that joined him onstage for his Coachella week sets (and the first track on Stoner): his wife Elvia and son Boaty.
Eyedress gave us a glimpse behind the scenes of his Coachella week experience via a series of candid shots by Razy Faouri along with his personal captions. Check them out below, and listen to Stoner here.
COACHELLA SIDE SHOW AT THE EL REY

Backstage, probably nervous and in my head.

Sweet kiss for Elvia doing great on her first performance in front of an audience.

Hyping up Boaty and telling him to dance for the audience.

Is it my birthday? ’Cuz it feels like it.
COACHELLA WEEKEND ONE

Pre-show anxiety with the love of my life.

At the artist compound in Coachella, nervous but confident at the same time.

Wylin’ out on stage.

Exhausted and out of breath from performing.
COACHELLA WEEKEND TWO

Trying our best to give our autistic son Boaty a memorable Coachella experience.

Boaty loves golf carts, so we caught a ride over to our stage in one. He loved the view from the backseat.

If you were at our weekend two show, you saw that Boaty closed out our set and turned up with us during my last song, “I Don’t Wanna Be Your Friend,’ which was a beautiful and wholesome moment that I hope he’ll always remember.
