Pleasure Pill aren’t shy about their influences: Take a glance at the artwork for their debut album, Hang a Star, and you know you’re in for Oasis’ soaring take on Britpop with a bit of the psychedelic influence of Spacemen 3 and the cheeky radio hits of The Dandy Warhols. Before the San Diego–based group shares the full LP, they’re letting those inspirations shine on new single “My Way to You,” a densely packed bed of sound that manages to feel weightless as vocalist Jonah Paz’s Gallagher-esque vocals enter the mix. “‘My Way to You’ is the youngest song out of the batch, written sometime last year,” Paz shares of the track. “One of those songs that truly feels like an exact mix of every band we love. It’s intended to be large, powerful, and anthemic, growing until it explodes.”
Arriving alongside the track is a grainy black-and-white video of the band performing the five-minute tune—check it out below, and pre-order Hang a Star here.
