Maltese songwriter and producer Yasmin Kuymizakis released her debut album as JOON back in 2021, with Dream Again providing opportunities for exposure as it led to gigs opening for everyone from Regina Spektor to Future Islands given her fluency in both songwriting and synth-pop composition. Her latest single sees her teaming up with Chromatics’ Johnny Jewel and Italians Do It Better Records, as well as Annapurna Interactive—the video game arm of the indie-film company of the same name, whose new project Wheel World will be soundtracked by the upbeat, cathartic tones of JOON.

“I Want It All” embraces the game’s colorful imagery, heart-pumping pace, and hungry spirit, with Kuymizakis expressing that the lyrics detail a leap into the unknown. “‘I Want It All’ is about that tension between holding on and breaking free,” she shares. “It’s about chasing something bigger, even when it means stepping into the unknown. I want to feel fearless and emotional. A leap that has to be taken.”
