Paul Banks of Interpol fame has released a pair of double A-side covers from the Iggy Pop/Stooges canon, taken from the official soundtrack for Karan Kandhari’s upcoming film Sister Midnight. Banks has tackled two Iggy all-timers, “Sister Midnight” and “Gimme Danger,” originally co-written with David Bowie and The Stooges, respectively. Both tracks are out now via Partisan Records, and a special limited-edition physical 7-inch of the singles is available for pre-order, too.

“‘Gimme Danger’ is one of my favorite Stooges songs,” Banks shared, “and ‘Sister Midnight’ I was less familiar with, but it is the titular track of a film that is feral with Stoogian grit and joy, so I was equally excited to immerse myself in it, and find an interpretation that felt authentic to my voice.”

Sister Midnight also features an original score written by Banks, which will receive an official release later this year. Order the 7-inch version of “Sister Midnight/Gimme Danger” here, and check out both songs below.
