Queens of the Stone Age have announced a number of theatrical screenings across 20 different countries in celebration of their forthcoming concert film, Alive in the Catacombs, which documents the band’s performance in the catacombs of Paris. These events are scheduled for June 3 – 5, and the June 4 Los Angeles screening, in particular, is set to be a special evening. It will be held at Brain Dead Studios and will feature an appearance by the band’s Josh Homme, who will introduce the film and stick around afterward for a Q&A.
“We’re so stripped down because that place is so stripped down, which makes the music so stripped down, which makes the words so stripped down…It would be ridiculous to try to rock there,” Homme recalled about the recording experience in the titular catacombs. “All those decisions were made by that space. That space dictates everything, it’s in charge. You do what you’re told when you’re in there.”
