Rocket have just released their third single of the year with “Crossing Fingers,” which begs the question: What the hell have you been doing with your 2025? The squad is already three songs deep and it’s only June!
You ready for another alt-rock banger? Because that’s exactly what the group cooks up with “Crossing Fingers.” The drums are accented by busy snare fills and thunderstorms of cymbal work. The guitars sting and soothe like Icy Hot and the vocals take some nice cues from days of shoegaze past. The track “is the story of falling so deep into a partnership with someone and bearing the weight of the fear of messing it all up,” shared vocalist and bassist Alithea Tuttle. “Knowing that changing for them would mean sacrificing yourself, but not being able to help the feeling of wanting to change for them. Hoping that the two of you can grow together over years and years, but not knowing if that is even in the cards for you. Knowing that only time will tell.”
In other Rocket news, the band is gearing up for their first US headline tour, kicking off in October after a run of August dates supporting The Smashing Pumpkins across the UK. Check out “Crossing Fingers” below, and view their tour dates here.
