Last we heard from Philadelphia-based shoegaze experimentalists Bleary Eyed, they were revving up the machine again after releasing their 2023 self-titled EP and debut for Born Losers Records. A year and change removed from the unveiling of “2 True,” we now know that the single will appear on their forthcoming LP Easy, and today we’re getting another taste of that project with the release of the album’s title track. Elevating from shimmering, synth-lined dream pop to a wash of sound with wavering shoegaze guitar at the forefront, the single perfectly exhibits the band’s eagerness to test the boundaries of the genre with their penchant for lightly psychedelic flourishes and noise-pop charm.

As frontman Nathaniel Salfi shares, the track is an anthem of self-acceptance and a broader sense of positivity. “Lyrically it delves into a theme of someone wanting to bring new ideas into fruition against odds,” he shares. “My idea was to combine choruses with prominent lyrics, with a very washed-out earthly verse to conjure a feeling of insignificance while being tied to a greater worldly cause. The song is about one finding their higher path after not knowing what the future holds, but remaining excited and open for it.”

Check out the new track below, and pre-order Easy ahead of its July 25 release date here.
