Father John Misty at FLOODfest Chicago / by Chad Kamenshine

With the first day of Lollapalooza 2015 over and done with, last night, FLOODfest Chicago—three nights of unbeatable music at the Virgin Hotel and presented by Vnue—continued its hot streak with intimate performances by some of today’s most sought-after acts from Grant Park and beyond.

The second night of FLOODfest Chicago started with a very special acoustic performance by the one and only Father John Misty. In a room that fit less than one-hundred people, Josh Tillman tore through memorable tracks from his two FJM albums (2012’s Fear Fun and this year’s I Love You, Honeybear), complete with ad-libbed lyrics and participation from the packed crowd. After worshiping at the feet of Tillman (and then Idyll‘s DJ set) on the twenty-fifth floor, the party (which had a massive line down the block) moved to the third floor to check out a solid set by the electro-rock trio Lany and DJ sets by Kywo. That crowd quickly transformed into a sweaty pile of fun thanks to Los Angeles electro-synth-pop group YACHT. Atlanta native Daye Jack closed the evening with a handful of tracks that showed his signature style of singing/rapping to the faithful and caffeinated.

Special thanks to our sponsors Burton, Ernie Ball, and Vnue. Below, check out photos from the second night of FLOODfest, courtesy of Chad Kamenshine.
