As legend has it, Fontaines D.C. played their first “big” show in London at The Finsbury pub in 2017 to around 20 people. This past Sunday, the Dublin band returned for a massive victory lap, once again playing their biggest show to date across the street from that pub at Finsbury Park to over 45,000 fans, along with support from their friends Amyl & the Sniffers, Kneecap, Blondshell, Been Stellar, and Cardinals. Under grey skies and a buzzing crowd, the show marked a major milestone for the band—a moment that felt both hard-earned and right on time.
FLOOD photographer Kimberley Ross was there to capture images from the day, from Fontaines’ dominating 23-song set to the scores of fans sporting Dublin Bohemians football jerseys, Kneecap masks, and, of course, plenty of Palestinian flags in support of both artists’ missions to keep the world’s attention on the atrocities taking place in Gaza.
