Austin-based songwriter Sophia Warren kicked off the summer with the release of her Adesso EP, her follow-up to last October’s debut EP Bloodstone. Landing on the heels of exciting singles like “Static” and “Grin,” one notable difference on this new project can be found in the contributions of producer Chris Coady, who adds to Warren’s alt-pop grooves a sense of warmth previously layered upon records by Beach House and Grizzly Bear.
It’s this first single that Warren performs in her acoustic “Neighborhoods” session filmed in her hometown of Austin. Set up in front of Lady Bird Lake in the Texas capital’s Red Bud Isle park, the artist gives an impassioned vocal performance backed by a lone guitar. “There’s something about Red Bud Isle that makes time slow down,” she shares of her setting. “The trees, the water, the dogs—it all feels like a dream you don’t want to wake up from.”
