After following up their 2009 self-titled record with a further polished collection of folk-leaning chamber-pop music just two years later, Oklahoma’s Other Lives have been taking their time to get things just right ever since. It’s consistently been five years between each studio album that’s followed, with last month’s release of their single “Mystic” and news of their signing to PIAS fulfilling the implicit promise that 2025 would see the return of Other Lives. Volume V, the band’s fifth album and debut for the label, is slated to be released on October 10.

Today Other Lives is sharing another cut from the new album, with the density of “Show Us Some Love” keeping one foot firmly planted in the rustic indie-folk of their debut while adding orchestral layers and a touch of psychedelia to craft something more complex. Lyrically, lead vocalist Jesse Tabish notes that the track narrates a conversation between mankind and our creator(s), pleading as to why “the other won’t give enough love.”
