Another week, another festival, another electrifying Doechii performance.

Summer may be winding down, but festival season is still in full swing. Outside Lands returned to take over Golden Gate Park in San Francisco this past weekend. While hosting several familiar names making the festival rounds (Tyler, the Creator, Hozier, John Summit), Outside Lands always has a few surprises up their sleeves. This year saw Big Freedia performing with the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus for their early Sunday afternoon musical sermon, Beck performing with the Berkeley Symphony, Doja Cat debuting a new look and new music, and Vampire Weekend both opening (at 12:45 p.m.) and closing (at 8:35 p.m.) the Twin Peaks stage with completely different sets on Saturday.

And then there was Doechii. After captivating Lollapalooza the previous weekend, she brought the fire right from the start to a massive main stage crowd, maintaining non-stop energy with a crew of dancers and high-concept theatrics. Other highlights included Mannequin Pussy, Wasia Project, Hope Tala, NewDad, Jessica Pratt, Gesaffelstein, recent FLOOD cover stars Royel Otis, and Anderson .Paak (who also did a second set as DJ Pee .Wee).
