Øyafestivalen (or Øya Festival) returned this past weekend to Tøyenparken, Oslo to deliver another unforgettable celebration of music and sustainability. From its roots in 1999, Øya has earned a reputation as one of Europe’s most forward-thinking festivals, showcasing an eclectic mix of bold international headliners—including Chappell Roan, Queens of the Stone Age, Wet Leg, Khruangbin, girl in red, and Mk.gee—alongside rising talent such as Kneecap, Lola Young, and Norway’s own Anna of the North. Nestled in the heart of the city, the festival combines genre-spanning performances with an unwavering commitment to eco-conscious practices and gender-balanced programming that reflects its progressive ethos.
