Clover County is gearing up to release Finer Things, the Georgia-based songwriter’s debut collection of Americana ballads beefed up with a bit of alt-rock toughness as well as coated with a pop sheen. Created with the help of Noah Kahan producer Carrie K, these recordings strike a commendable balance of upbeat instrumentation and somber vocals as Clover works through coming-of-age experiences as they relate to love, romantic and otherwise.
Before the record drops on September 26 via Thirty Tigers and her own label Undercover Lover Records, Clover County recorded a “Neighborhoods” session for us while on the road in Boise. Set up within the lush greenery of the Idaho Botanical Gardens she strums through the pre-album singles “Good Game” and “Virginia Slim” on acoustic guitar in the peaceful setting.
