The full list of nominees for the 2025 Mercury Prize has been announced, with the shortlist highlighted by Fontaines D.C., Wolf Alice, FKA Twigs, Pulp, and CMAT. Fontaines D.C. hasn’t received a nomination since their debut album, 2019’s Dogrel, while CMAT was nominated last year for her second album Crazymad, for Me. Wolf Alice took home the 2018 award for Visions of a Life and was nominated again in 2021 for their last record, Blue Weekend. Pulp has now been nominated four times and won the award back in 1996 for their album Different Class.
The 2025 awards show will be held on October 16 at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle, marking the first time that the ceremony has been hosted outside of London in its 33 year history. In addition to announcing the winner, the event will also feature live performances from nominees.
