Today marks the two-year anniversary of Mitski’s seventh album, The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We. To celebrate the milestone, the songwriter is sharing a teaser for the concert film she announced last week called Mitski: The Land, which will hit theaters for a limited run beginning on October 22. The brief clip of Grant James’ film gives us a glimpse of the set, which was filmed across three evenings at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre last year. Per the video’s description, “The starkness of the stage design (created by Andi Watson) evokes the album’s themes of isolation, longing, and the wild beauty of human connection, with visual elements that shift from a striking minimalism to a lush, dreamlike tableau.”
