We’re just under a month away from the release of São Paolo–based songwriter and model Gab Ferreira’s new record Carrossel, with early singles such as “Ponta da Lingua” and “Law of Nature” providing a sense of the psychedelic textures and Brazilian musical influences the project has in store. To hear the artist tell it, many of these songs went through an extensive production process in order to reach their final, dazzling forms.
Yet before we hear the record in full, Ferreira is sharing a performance video for those previously mentioned singles that strips back the elaborate production design to display the bare bones of these compositions. “I’m really excited to share these live versions because so many of the songs on this album actually started as acoustic sketches on guitar or piano,” she shares of the “FLOOD Sessions” video. “Playing them in this stripped-down format feels very natural, and I love how the rawness brings out a deeper, more emotional side to the music.”
