Rock bands are commonly the products of suburban malaise, which is the case with Toronto’s Dilly Dally, but not all of them have singers with voices like frontwoman Katie Monks. The ragged strain in her throat as she counts off the band’s roaring single “Desire” sounds like something that’s been run over in the gravel and left to dry all day in the hot summer sun.

Check out the new video for “Desire” below, where the band escapes suburban boredom for a fantasy world of pretty pastels and dark, gummy, melodic rock.

On October 9th, Dilly Dally will release their debut album Sore, which according to Monks is “an album about rebirth…hence its disgusting guitar tones and constant moaning.”
