LA via Rhode Island songwriter Tyler Ballgame has confirmed that his debut album, For the First Time, Again, will be released on January 30 via Rough Trade Records. Following the release of “Got a New Car” back in July, swooning second single “I Believe in Love” is a delightful soul-pop throwback centered around Ballgame’s psychedelically tinged, otherworldly voice. Pianos, handclaps, and harmonies join in for the playful chorus.
Regarding the single, Ballgame said: “I had met [producer Jonathan] Rado and he told me to write the biggest song in the world, so I sat down at my kitchen table for two days and put the puzzle of the composition together. It’s turned into an anthem about love of love and the fools it makes.”
