If at first you were disappointed by Bryan Cranston’s (very short) initial post-Breaking Bad offering in the new Godzilla (everyone knows that Matthew Broderick is the only American who can carry that franchise), it looks like you’ll be seeing a lot more of the actor coming this fall.
First, Amazon picked up the pilot of Sneaky Pete (which still has an undetermined fate), and now comes the trailer for Trumbo—a classic Oscar-bait biopic movie about the writer Dalton Trumbo, who was persecuted and blacklisted during the second Red Scare of the 1950s.
Trumbo, best known for writing the high school English class essential Johnny Got His Gun in 1939, won two Oscars while using pseudonyms—one for Roman Holiday in 1953 and the other for The Brave One in 1956. He was also a notorious character, as evidenced by the Cranston’s portrayal, for which you can get a peek of below in the first trailer.
Trumbo is out November 6 in limited release.
