Western Vinyl has announced a new benefit compilation entitled Passages: Artists in Solidarity with Immigrants, Refugees, and Asylum Seekers. The project’s first two singles, ”No More Darkness” by Alan Sparkhawk and “A Place for Us” by Benjamin Booker, are out now. The album also includes original songs from Oneohtrix Point Never’s Daniel Lopatin, Dirty Projectors, Tim Heidecker, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Y La Bamba, William Tyler, Lambchop, Lonnie Holley, St. Panther, and more.

All proceeds will benefit the Texas-based organizations American Gateways and Casa Marianella, providing little-to-no-cost legal services, food, shelter, access to healthcare, and other essential services to immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. “Home, as we know it, is under threat,” said the comp’s producers and organizers Emilie Rex and Rick Alverson. “When immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers exercise their human right to safe passage, they defend our ability to do so—and our right to be and feel at home.”

On December 4, the project’s organizers will hold a live variety show and raffle/auction hosted by comedian and Passages artist Tim Heidecker on his call-in show Office Hours to further support the two organizations. The album is set to be released the following day and is available for pre-order on Bandcamp here. For now, you can check out the project’s first two singles below.
