Ladytron have been a consistent source for witching-hour synth music for 25 years now. As their sound has evolved since their early releases from the era of electroclash and nu-disco, their driving darkwave soundscapes, matched with Helen Marnie’s transfixing vocals, have always remained. Following 2023’s Time’s Arrow LP, and the remix album that followed, Ladytron made their Nettwerk label debut last month with the brooding and rave-y “I Believe in You” single, which gets a sequel today in the form of the equally haunting “I See Red.” Don’t close submissions for your Halloween party playlists just yet!
While there’s no new album to speak of quite yet, the band will be releasing a new remix collection titled Nightlife for Record Store Day Black Friday on November 28. Combining previously shared reworkings and those that have yet to be released, the collection features tracks by peers including Tiësto, Soulwax, Erol Alkan, Simian Mobile Disco, and Underworld’s Darren Emerson.
