Tim Heidecker has shared a beautiful country-folk cut entitled “Alone Until I’m Home,” which is set to be featured on the forthcoming compilation Passages: Artists in Solidarity with Immigrants, Refugees, and Asylum Seekers. Both an ode to touring and a tribute to all those missed during those lonely, endless days, the song came to Heidecker while on the road playing gigs: “I wrote this song on tour with my second favorite family, my band,” he said.
Arriving on December 5 via Western Vinyl, the compilation was announced at the beginning of October alongside the release of contributions from Alan Sparhawk and Benjamin Booker. Organizers of the project have also announced Passages listening sessions co-hosted by local artists, advocates, and organizations. “The idea is to bring us together—to celebrate music and community, but most importantly to learn from and engage with local efforts to support our neighbors,” a spokesperson for Passages shared in a press statement. Planning is underway for listening sessions in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Austin, and Richmond.
