Nearly two full years after releasing their self-titled debut, San Francisco punks Spiritual Cramp returned last month with their second full-length, Rude. The new release saw the sextet evolving their sound to incorporate elements of power pop, new wave, and dub with the help of a more democratic songwriting process resulting in a smoother listen that’s also more varied than their 2023 garage-punk debut.
The band will be hitting the UK and Europe later this month to promote the album as an opening act for The Hives before returning to the States early next year for a headlining tour. In the meantime, they’re the latest guests to take over the FLOOD FM airwaves with an all-new episode of “Hacked” wherein they spin an intriguing array of tracks which include their soon-to-be tourmates The Hives, Rude collaborator Sharon Van Etten, indie-rock icons like Interpol and Metric, and more recent crossover artists such as Deafheaven and Pool Kids, along with a few up-and-coming buzzbands including Model/Actriz and Rocket.
Check out the full episode every day this week (November 3 – 7) at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m., and 10 p.m. PT only on FLOOD FM. You can also find their full list of upcoming tour dates here.
