The Cure have consistently remained in the news for over five years now, largely due to Robert Smith’s insistence that the band has new material on the way. Since he finally made good on that promise last November, with Songs of a Lost World more than worth the wait and numerous missed deadlines, it’s a little more heartening to hear him already teasing that another new record is in the can. As we anticipate that release, this weekend the band formally announced The Cure: The Show of a Lost World, a concert film documenting the band’s release-night show on November 1, 2024 at London’s Troxy venue. To this day, the show marks their sole performance of the full Songs of a Lost World LP, padded out with 23 of the band’s older tracks (including five from Seventeen Seconds, which celebrated its 45th anniversary back in April).
The news arrives immediately after the band was added to the 2026 lineup for Denmark’s Roskilde Festival, with several additional festivals already booked next year for the UK and Europe. Stateside, we’ll be able to catch Show of a Lost World in theaters beginning December 11 with a Blu-ray release to follow. Find ticketing info and more details here.
