Magdalena Bay are still actively touring last year’s Imaginal Disk LP, but over the past few weeks we’ve gotten a few glimpses into what the band’s next chapter might look like. Back in September the duo dropped the psych-y prog-pop double single “Second Sleep” / “Star Eyes”—a unique set of tunes within their discography up until the moment they dropped the slightly dancier double single “Human Happens” / “Paint Me a Picture” shortly afterward. Then, on Halloween, we got “Unoriginal” / “Black-Eyed Susan Climb,” the former track’s title underselling the uniqueness of this period of the band’s output.

Rather than teasing their third album, though, today we learned that each of these tracks has been compiled together into a release titled Nice Day: A Collection of Singles, along with two final songs: one being the release’s title track, the other called “This Is the World (I Made It for You).” “This is the final pair (we made it for you),” the band shared of the fairly self-explanatory release. “Thank you for listening to these songs, it’s been a nice day to tangle with you.”

The full collection is available for pre-order on vinyl (shipping in April) here. You can check out the new singles below.
