The Chewing Quintet, a project led by Nik Ewing of Local Natives, have shared their debut single, “Morning After Lodge Room.” The track was recorded live at Chewing’s debut concert at the Lodge Room in LA on October 1, 2024. The first half of the show featured Ewing on piano performing songs from his sophomore Chewing album, Songs for Linnéa, and the latter half was an improv featuring the rest of the quintet: Darkside’s Dave Harrington, Local Natives bandmate Ryan Hahn, multi-instrumentalist Spencer Zahn, and Dawes’ Griffin Goldsmith.
The entire concert will be released as Quintet (Live in Los Angeles) on December 12 via Chewing Inc. Check out “Morning After Lodge Room” below, and pre-order the album here.
