“I could get used to this” seemed to be the refrain when UK-based dance-pop songwriter Jessie Ware made a slight pivot to ecstatic disco, boogie, and funk on 2020’s breakout album What’s Your Pleasure?. Now, she’s returning three years since her last punctuation-heavy LP with a loose single setting the groundwork for a new era of her breezy take on dance music. Following a string of collaborative singles released over the past few years, “I Could Get Used to This” feels like a natural progression from 2023’s That! Feels Good!.

“‘I Could Get Used to This’ is an invitation into the world of this album,” she shared. “I wanted to set the scene of the world that I’m trying to paint in the album; romance, real love, performance, celebration and pleasure (always!) in a garden full of gods and goddesses. I wrote this song with Miranda Cooper, Sophia Brenan and Jon Shave who are legends in British pop music. I’ve always admired Miranda’s work so I’m incredibly glad to have a record with her. First key change I’ve ever done—I think—and exciting start to you hearing more from my work with Jon Shave and Barney Lister amongst the other fantastic collaborators on this project.”

Naturally, the track arrives with a dance-heavy video littered full of gods and goddesses—check it out below.
