My Morning Jacket have shared a new project called Peacelands, an acoustic album of original songs and exclusive covers released in support of the citizens of Minneapolis in the midst of the city’s fatal ICE occupation. Recorded by Shawn Everett at EastWest Studios’ Studio Three in Hollywood, the 14-track release includes new versions of MMJ and Jim James solo tracks alongside covers of tunes by Bob Dylan, The Velvet Underground, Brian Wilson, and more.
All proceeds from Peacelands will benefit the ACLU, Doctors Without Borders, and the International Rescue Committee. James shared a lengthy statement about the project that you can check out below. Purchase the album here via ATO, and learn more about organizations providing on-the-ground assistance to Minnesotans here.
