For the first time in a decade, the Super Bowl is returning to the Bay Area next week for the event’s 60th edition. Given that the Seahawks and Patriots will be facing off in Levi’s Stadium, it’s only natural that the hometown brand made the most of the weekend leading up to The Big Game with a three-day pop-up event in San Francisco’s Financial District they’re calling “Home Turf.” In addition to exclusive Levi’s apparel drops, the event—which runs from February 5 – 7—will feature live appearances from Bay Area luminaries curated in partnership with EMPIRE, including Kehlani, iconic emcees E-40 and Too Short, and Vallejo-bred rapper LaRussell, as well as performances from Souls of Mischief, P-Lo, Goapele, and more as a part of NPR’s “Tiny Desk Experience.”
“This moment is about more than a game; it’s a cultural cornerstone that brings people together,” Levi’s CEO Michelle Gass explained last week when the event was announced. “San Francisco is our hometown, and we’re proud to celebrate one of the biggest sports stages right here where music, fashion and sports intersect in such a unique way.” Added the company’s chief marketing officer Kenny Mitchell: “Few brands can authentically play across so many facets of culture, including sports, in the way Levi’s consistently does. As a brand that continues to live at the center of culture, we’re honored to hold the naming rights to Levi’s Stadium—a global stage on our ‘home turf’ that connects generations of fans through the unifying and positive power of sport, music and creativity.”
The pop-up will also include a curated series of conversations, workshops, and interactive installations celebrating sports, fashion, music and the authentic energy of the Bay Area.
