Carrie Brownstein. Hunger makes me a modern girl cover collage. Memoir.

Even at their most compelling, book tours can be pretty mellow affairs.

Leave it to Sleater-Kinney frontwoman and Portlandia star Carrie Brownstein to kick things up a notch. In support of her upcoming new memoir Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl, the musician and actress has plotted a book tour that will take her across the US and into Canada later this year.

For each event, Brownstein will be joined by a guest interviewer, and so far Questlove, Amy Poehler, Dave Eggers, Jessica Hopper, and Gaby Hoffman have been confirmed.

According to Penguin, Brownstein’s memoir is “an intimate and revealing narrative of her escape from a turbulent family life into a world where music was the means toward self-invention, community, and rescue.”

Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl is out October 27. Check out the full list of book tour dates and special guests below.
