Sometimes the simple, overlooked things in life are the best. The Domestics‘ new video for “It Came To Me” is a collection of small moments worth celebrating, whether they be skateboarding in the suburbs, setting off fireworks at the beach, playing a show, or just sightseeing with friends. In a pleasant analogue to the changing season, the song’s warm piano drags a melancholy line through the bright, punchy guitar—a slight nod to to summer’s giving way to fall.
The Domestics’ self-titled debut album was recently released on Tender Loving Empire, and their straightforward, no-frills approach earned them a designation as a 2015 “Band to Watch” by Spin.
Check out the video below and enjoy the last bit of summer along to the tune of syncopated drums, punchy piano chords, and some energetic Cold War Kids-style guitar strikes.
